With only 8 weeks until Christmas, the shop is bursting at the seams! Board games are set to be very popular this year and we have many to choose from! We have played many of the games that we stock and are always happy to give advice. We have lots of demonstrations available for you to try before you buy too. Our current favourite is Dr Eureka-come and try it in store!
Our 10th anniversary of selling toys and games is fast approaching! To celebrate we are offering a prize draw to win my height in games! All you need to do is buy a game in store between now and 7th April and you will be entered into the draw. The more games you buy, the more entries you will have! The winning ticket drawn on 7th April will win the 5ft 3 tower, worth over £300!
We are almost approaching the end of January and what a busy month it has been so far! We have expanded our upstairs sales area to accommodate new shelving in order to stock more lines! One of the new lines is Sylvanian Families which has been requested by our customers. We have had the biggest Lego delivery we have ever had which resulted in relocating the Lego to upstairs in order to give it more shelf space!
We are now stocking the Funko Pop Vinyl range and so far our best sellers have been Albus Dumbledore, Batman, Kylo Ren and Iron Man.
Last weekend I visited the London Toy Fair which was good fun. It was great to see the upcoming Lego lines for 2016 and to try out some new games. Exploding Kittens and Gobbit looked great games and have been ordered! My favourite new line was the interactive scavenger hunt card game called Sneaky Cards. This is already in stock and online and is a great gift idea for teenagers, students and adults who like a laugh!
Happy New Year to all our customers. We are very excited about 2016 and hope to build on our range of products throughout the year.
We plan to continue growing our Lego offering as this has proved very popular and we are looking forward to our appointment at the London Toy Fair to preview what Lego will be hitting the shelves this year.
Since our shop relocation in May, we have seen a surge in the demand for Adult Jigsaws. We currently stock Gibsons, Falcon, House Of Puzzles and Wasgij and have the largest selection of 500 and 1000 piece puzzles in Skipton. We will hopefully be stocking an even bigger choice in 2016 so watch this space.
My favourite growth area of 2015 has been our range of boardgames. I have thoroughly enjoyed researching and testing new games for the shop and feel that we have a great selection to offer both gateway gamers and families. Our first delivery of 2016 will be more new games and this is a theme we want to continue. We play most of the games we stock so if you ever want any advice, just ask!
2016 – Bring it on!
This weeks hot seller in store is Elf On The Shelf!
The Elf on the Shelf® Tradition
is a special scout elf sent from the North Pole to help Santa Claus manage his naughty and nice lists. When a family adopts a scout elf and gives it a name, the scout elf receives its Christmas magic and can fly to the North Pole each night to tell Santa Claus about all of the day’s adventures. Each morning, the scout elf returns to its family and perches in a different place to watch the fun. Children love to wake up and race around the house looking for their scout elf each morning.
There are two simple rules that every child knows when it comes to having a scout elf. First, a scout elf cannot be touched; Christmas magic is very fragile and if a scout elf is touched it may lose that magic and be unable to fly back to the North Pole. Second, a scout elf cannot speak or move while anyone in the house is awake! A scout elf’s job is to watch and listen.
Scout elves typically appear in their families’ homes at the beginning of the holiday season. On Christmas Eve, the scout elves return to the North Pole with Santa Claus—until next year!
We currently have stock of this product but it is selling quickly in advance of 1st December when the magic begins! Pop in store to find out more!
